Dr. Carvalho’s passion for the health care field started at a young age. Growing up in impoverished West Africa he was made fully aware of the necessity and urgency of health care on the quality of life.

Dr. Carvalho graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a Bio-organic minor from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. His passion for helping people and interest in the life sciences drove him to further pursue a Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. His four year training enabled him to experience a wide variety of patient interactions and a diverse educational background. In his final year of the program he worked at several eye care settings including a community health care center, a Veteran’s Affairs clinic in Manchester, New Hampshire, a contact lens practice as well as a world renowned Ophthalmology practice in Hallandale, Florida specializing in the latest lasik procedures and oculoplastic surgeries.

His areas of interest in Optometry include paedeatrics, contact lenses, punctual plug treatment for certain cases of dry eye syndrome as well as preventative care for chronic conditions such as Glaucoma and Macular degeneration. Keeping up to date with current literature and research into the fields of preventative medicine, Dr. Carvalho appreciates the importance of educating his patients on the necessary precautions and dietary, physical life-style interventions to prevent eye diseases from occurring.

Dr. Carvalho enjoys traveling, culture and sports. He is fluent in English and French, with a working knowledge of Spanish.

Dr. Fazalulla was exposed to the optical industry at a young age. He would learn from his father who is an Optician the importance of vision and helping people see better. This motivated him to pursue Optometry to increase his ability to not only help people see better, but to make sure people’s eyes were taken care of. Dr. Fazalulla pursued his passion of Optometry overseas in the United Kingdom.

After graduating with Honours in 2009, he remained in the UK and worked alongside Ophthalmologists who specialised in refractive surgery. He was trained to co-manage pre and post LASIK and Refractive lens exchange surgeries as well as management of dry eyes. After gaining his extensive experience he moved back home to Toronto, Canada and did rotations with retinal specialists and ophthalmologists who’s field of expertise included glaucoma, cataracts and diabetes. He obtained his Canadian license to practice Optometry in December 2016. Along with keeping up to date with the latest research and developments in eye care, Dr. Fazalulla spends his time with his family and friends, particularly his two young children.

Dr. Carmen Ou received both her Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. She has worked alongside numerous ophthalmologists such as cataract surgeons, retina specialists, cornea specialists and glaucoma specialists across Toronto and York region.

Because of her diverse training, Dr. Ou is well-versed in current treatments for a wide range of diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and dry eye. She also has an interest for specialty lenses and is certified to fit contact lenses for myopia control, keratoconus and ocular surface diseases. Dr. Ou believes that awareness is the best way to prevent vision loss, so she prides herself on educating her patients and providing the tools and resources they need to take care of their health.

Dr. Ou is a member of the Ontario College of Optometrists, The Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.

Dr. Patel earned her bachelor of science with honors from the University of Toronto, majoring in neuroscience. She then graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Patel completed an internship with ophthalmologists at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was involved in the management of patients with glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She then had the opportunity to complete an internship at Northampton Vision Specialists in Northampton, Massachusetts where she gained experience with vision therapy and patients suffering from binocular vision disorders. Dr. Patel also completed internships
at the West Roxbury Veteran Affairs Hospital and multiple community health centers in Boston, providing a full scope of care to veterans and civilians.

Dr. Patel is registered and in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario and is certified to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPAs). She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is certified to practice in the United States as well as Canada. Dr. Patel is interested in vision therapy and keeping up with the latest technology in optometry.

Dr. Patel was born and raised in Pickering, Ontario. She is excited to be back home and provide excellent eye care to her community! In her spare time, Dr. Patel enjoys playing piano, guitar, and swimming.

Graduating from the University of Toronto and the New England College of Optometry, Dr. Pelia is currently licensed with the College of Optometrists of Ontario and an active member of the Optometry Association of Ontario.

Dr. Pelia is familiarized with a wide range of optometric specialities from contact lenses, glaucoma management, binocular vision training and pediatric care. However, her focus and passion is heavily ocular disease focused. Dr. Pelia has done her rotations through some of America's most prestigious hospitals including Boston Medical Center and the Veterans Hospital in Buffalo, New York.

The most important thing for Dr. Pelia during your eye exam is that you walk away with a clear understanding of your eye health. She gives each patient their due time in the exam chair and encourages questions about your ocular health at each step of the exam. 

Dr. Pelia is actively learning French but can conduct an eye exam in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Spanish at this time!

Andreia is our lovely Receptionist here at Oshawa Eye Care. She is always available to answer any of our patients questions or concerns.

Our front desk receptionist has her Business Administration Diploma and has worked in customer service for several years.  Beverly is organized, proficient with computers and has great interpersonal skills. Throughout her experiences she has learned the importance of creating relationships with patients that will last for years to come.  She enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family.

Grace is one of our lovely receptionist at the office. Shes handles all contact lens orders and inquiries. She is always eager to assist patients in booking appointments!
